Regions of the United States

The first region of the US is the Atlantic Coastal Plain. It is along the Ocean and the Gulf Of Mexico. It also has broad lowlands providing many excellent harbors.

The second region in the US is the Appalachian Mountains. They are located west of the Coastal Plains. From Canada to Alabama it is the oldest mountain range in America that is eroded.

The third region of the United States is the Canadian Shield. Around the Hudson Bay you will find this region. There are hills worn by erosion, hundreds of lakes carved by glaciers too. The Canadian Shield is the oldest rock formation in the US.

The fourth region in the United States is the Great Plains.They are east of the Rocky Mts. They have flat lands that get higher in the west. The Great Plains are Known as the " Bread Basket".

The Fifth region of the United States is the Interior Lowlands. West of the Appalachian Mts. you can find the Inteiror Lowlands. It is also east of the Great Plains.

The sixth region in the US is the Rocky Mts. It is west of the Great plains also. The Rocky Mts. are rugged mountains from Alaska to Mexico. It has the Continental divide. " Flow of Rivers "
The Seventh region in the United States is the Basin and Range region. It contains Death Valley "the lowest point". It is west of the Rocky Mts east of Sierra Nevada's and Cascade. They have Isolated Mt.Ranges.
The eighth region of the United States is the Coastal Range region. It has rugged montains. It is on the Pacific Coast too. It goes from California to Canadas fertile valleys.
